Is there a way to just add £10 credit to your phone without it going into a tafiff or bolt on?

For example, I occasionally use my o2 pay as you go when I am in areas of poor signal and in emergencies, however, whenever I top up, if I try to make a call ie, 0845, etc, it says I don't have enough credit and to top up.

I may be being stupid here, but I cant see any option in where I can just put some money on the phone without taking up an offer.  Is this still possible??

I have just changed a Pay and go go go sim to text & web through My O2. The top us can then be used as and when you want. As this is just a back up for me, I get 300 texts and 500Mb web if I top up monthly but if I don't top up I still have the £10 to make calls at standard rates.

Hi,

What payg tariff are you on ?

Check in Myo2.

If you top up and the credit stays on your phone without it being taken by a tariff with minutes, texts and data allowances ,then you can use that credit to make such calls.

If you have inclusive minutes they don't cover 0845 numbers.

There are apps that can be downloadedonto your phone which convert these numbers into magic numbers that then come out of your inclusive minutes or go online and look at a site called saynoto0870. This gives you alternative numbers.

I use pay as you go go go 20

You would have to add extra top up than the cost of your tariff, or use the info I've put in my first reply.

ie : if your on the £10 pay as you go go go for example, then top up by £15 or £20 and the remaining can be used to make chargeable calls.

If you dont use up the rest of this extra credit then it will just stay on your account until your next anniversary date and can go towards the cost of your next tariff anniversary date.

You need to move to something like o2 unlimited that will not eat the credit each time.

Then you could setup auto topup of £10 when the balance reached £1 so you never run out of credit and it only tops up when low

If you're already an existing O2 Pay & Go customer and want to swap to Unlimited, text NOLIMIT to 21300 free from your O2 mobile or visit My O2.

Just do a little homework on what these tariffs are.

Some are only beneficial if you mostly contact people also on the o2 Network.

Data allowances can be different too on other tariffs
