I contacted O2 customer services this morning to ask whether I could bar all premium numbers from contacting me and / or debiting my account and they said there was only one available bar on premium numbers and that it would also include barring all international calls. I asked whether that meant both calling international numbers from the UK and calling the UK from abroad, and I was told that it would. The customer service advisor called it a 'Premium and International' bar. I had a scam text that said I'd signed up to something I hadn't, followed by some money being charged to my O2 account, and just wanted to stop this kind of thing from happening, but I still need to be able to call the UK from abroad. I'd be grateful if @Marjo could say where the list of available bars came from. When I said I understood they could just bar premium numbers I was told to ignore what I'd read from other people online and that they worked for O2 so they knew it wasn't possible. Perhaps they are correct and things have changed since these previous posts, but it seems very odd. So I wasn't able to put any kind of bar on my phone as I didn't want to block the ability to call the UK from abroad. The assistant seemed to be doing their best to be helpful but perhaps O2 do try to avoid barring these numbers as they gain from people using them. It's frustrating not to know what is actually possible. I might try looking for a different service provider now that says they can bar premium numbers alone.

You need to ask for a "direct to bill" bar to be placed on your account.
These are Premium services but they do not come under the normal premium rate services for O2.
A direct to bill bar will stop any Payforit charges.

Hi @Lainie , sorry to hear about the frustration you've been having with this. The information I got earlier about the bars that was quoted above is from our O2 Gurus.
