Iphone Activation Hell

Hi, Bought second hand 2g Iphone. Three weeks of activation hell. Ugraded my contract to iphone 24 - 35 plan and told that all is activated. After two weeks exchanged sim card as told everything was ok by customer support. In the meantime bought PAYG and it activated in under a minute on 3.1.2. Put my contract sim in Network restricted upgraded to 3.1.3 still same waiting for activation please help.

I have read that O2 have two different bases on contains customer information and one contains phone information could it be that these are not connnected and that my sim is activated but the imie numbers are different, or maybe the replacement sim card number has not been updated to my account.

As stated it isnt a hardware issue as PAYG activated so phone sees O2 no problem and made calls as a test. It seems that my database infromation isnt connected.

Any views on this would be very gratful.

Ring customer service to check replacement sim is activated to your contract number as all contract sims are sent out not attached to an account to prevent fraud.

Will do that. Is there any special number to phone as Ive spoken to customer service before, didnt get the impression that the person I spoke too fully understood my predicament.
