@Anonymous The cheapest way to call the US, as in FREE, is to download WhatsApp and have whoever you're calling in the US download the app to their mobile too. You can text and call with voice or video totally free, but you both must have the app.
The only other alternative is to use Skype or a different VOIP over WiFi or your data allowance and buy credit to make calls to mobiles or land lines. Either way is a much better choice than to call using any bolt-on from O2.
