I got an iPhone as a gift and for some reason I haven't got receipt and I'm unable to obtain it from the person who gave it to me. Is it possible to insure it?

That makes no sense as O2 insure are their own company, but anyway, like I said, if they aren't interested try elsewhere.
There are hundreds of options if you Google Mobile Phone Insurance.
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Mine is insured with Nationwide. Not sure where my daughter in law and son are insured but they are both on O2 and did NOT insure with them. As I said they have made claims on their insurance and were never asked for proof of purchase

Ask the person who gifted the iPhone to you.

Nationwide is a bank and some accounts cover personal items such as phones for insurance purposes.
Check with your own bank what they can offer you.

No Nationwide is a building society and I have an account with them. My son tells me he was insured with Churchill...my daughter in law was with her bank...

They would. If you did mobile phone insurance online...there would be no way you would be giving a receipt..

As stated no-one I know has been asked for a receipt when insuring a phone...nor when making a claim.
