I got 2 texts from 1 person with a moving emoji happy face type thing. O2 charged me for each. .416p why. I have no control on these coming in. Or do i?

Hi @JTW You shouldnt have been charged at all. Only the sender pays

If you replied directly from the received message it defaults to sending as an MMS, so you will have been charged for replying to them.

I can't see how that works @MI5? It's not as if you are capturing the text to reply, you are simply sending a text. I have responded to loads of text containing emojis and have never been charged once?

Well that's a new one on me. As I say I have replied to a MMS and never been charged.

Not being argumentative, just stating facts.

If that really is the case then maybe it should be added to your guide I posted above?

It will clearly state an MMS is being generated when you hit reply.
But, just because a message has an emoji in it doesn’t mean it’s an MMS.

Yes I'm quite aware of that thanks. I know what a MMS is. I also know I have never been charged when replying to one...Lucky me.
