Hi there

I recently switched up to an Honor Magic V3 in September and I am planning on switching up to a Samsung Galaxy Fold 6 in December. I just went through the switch up process to see if the device is recognised due to it being such a new phone and it isn't recognising the IMEI number.

Is there anything I can do now so when I do switch up in December it will go smoothly as I know with O2 nothing is ever easy to sort when something goes wrong

@David46 -

It happens a lot, if you search the forum - and is related to an issue when the system hasn't updated with the latest numbers. Waiting a while usually fixes the issue. If you do decide to follow-up with O2, which has been known to address the issue, then use the Social Media links in Guide: How to find help & contact O2 - the O2 Social Media team seem more able to handle this type of mismatch in O2's systems than the call centers.  I have used the X link, but any will do - just stick to one channel and be persistent. Good luck!

Just to add to the conversation I checked 02 recycle and it's not appearing there either

Unfortunately I hate this phone the hardware is great but there is so many frustrating bugs in Magic OS a lot of apps need a workaround to make them work

Hi

I've tried to do a switch up with the magic v3 as well today and it's still not being recognised,Not sure why this is taking so long to fix a simple issue like adding the devices

When is this supposed to be fixed does any one know?

We wouldn't know @cath1971 as we are just customers like yourself.

The best thing you can do is get in touch with o2 - either call them or use social media (all numbers and links are in the guide below).

Guide: How to find help & contact O2

For switch up we would also recommend visiting your local o2 store - less chance of an issue as the assess the phone then and there, and close down the contract related to it immediately.

Please note, this is not customer services and we cannot access your account. Do not publish personal details (email, phone number, bank account).

Link to our guide on how to contact them can be found here

Hi there. I'm busy fighting the same fight with my Magic V3 too. Trying to switch up and IMEI is not recognised. I have the X team looking at it and they gave me a reference number and said the tech team is busy with it. That was days ago. Not sure how difficult it is to register a mobile on their systems. Almost like the phones don't exist. Lol. Will update if I get any luck.
