I want my GOD DAMN MONEY BACK THAT O2 STOLE!

OK long story short!

 

-I had a ridiculously good number (literally only had 0,7,8!!)

 

-After my contract finished, it turned to a PAY AS YOU GO

 

-Got a new contract and didn't switch over the number for personal reasons

 

-Now, I never used the PAYG for AGES, literally, maybe a year plus.

 

-I still had credit on it, and no I don't remember how much (to the nearest 50p...)

 

I called them up, they said to get my number, I need to know my security password (nope forgot that) and nope I have no idea how much credit I have, it's been ages!

 

-Sorry we can't help you!

 

WTF! Then how do I claim my money back, do they just get to keep it? Should I just pay a crackhead to steal a phone from O2 for justice? (jk)

As a rule, the t&c's for payg state that a chargeable call must be made at least every six months otherwise the number will be disconnected from the network. Any credit remaining will also go at the same time.

Sorry if that isn't what you want to hear but that is the t&c's I'm afraid.

If O2 still have it you might be lucky, if it's gone it's gone.

 

I'm afraid if the number and credit remains unclaimed the number is recycled to someone else.

Welcome to the o2 community. We are all customers here helping each other.

Re the number you can contact o2 to see if the number has been reassigned. If it has not then you may be able to sign up to o2 and be given that number.

If however it has already been reassigned then I am sorry to say you have lost it.

Have you tried ringing it to see if it is active? Just a thought.

Since you haven't used the sim for a long while, it's best to contact O2 via phone and see if they can help you.
Maybe you will get the number back if it wasn't relocated.

Do you want the number back or the credit? I'm afraid you don't own the number. Once O2 disconnect it they can give it to someone else.

I doubt that anyone on here can help as we are just customers.

As other members have suggested, the best thing to do is to call O2 and explain the situation and what you'd like and they should be able to help.

You can usually get the number and credit back up to 12 months before the number is recycled. Hope you are lucky when you contact them. O2 haven't stolen your money, you just didn't fulfill the t&cs.

Sounds like it's not active so you have a chance of getting it back - It would help if you could remember your security details though as you could be anyone ringing up trying to get my number, for example.......
