I’ve lost all my contacts and can’t Install WhatsApp

I haven't been receiving WhatsApp messages nor be able to send them for a couple of days. An online advice site advised me to uninstall WhatsApp which I did. Somehow this led to me having to return my phone to factory settings. This made me lose all my contacts. I am unable to reinstall whatsapp too.

id be very grateful for any help.

@Lesley6 What phone do you have? If you have a Google account, all your contacts will have been stored there.

Edit: What happens when you try to reinstall WhatsApp? There shouldn't be any reason why you can't if you did a factory reset.
