I have been overcharged - how do I get a refund.

This afternoon I received a phishing text which purported to be from HM Customs about a refund due to me.

Realising what it was I forwarded the text to HMRC on 60599 at 15:08.

I only sent the one text which I expected to be charged for at £0.083.

my recent charges shows that I have been charged 5 times for the same text at the same time.

How do I get a refund in respect of the overcharge?

Hello Marjo,

Despite the chat adviser saying that she had put a refund through there is still no sign of it!

That was 16 hours ago! Strangely the charge they added showed on my account within 3 hours. I am very unhappy with O2 - having been with 02 for over 10years the customer service in recent times is not very good - I think I will close my account and go to another provider.

thank you for your interest.

Refunds only appear when your bill is generated and you're really gonna leave over 50p which may or may not be O2's fault?
I only say this as you say you've been with o2 for 10 years - the grass may not be greener elsewhere!
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Thanks for the update @Anonymous. Note that the timescale for refunds to appear on account is normally within 7 days, so I wouldn't worry yet. slight_smile Hopefully it will show up for you soon.
