I bought a new phone from o2 which turned out not to be what I wanted, so I returned it. O2 wanted everything they'd sent me; the phone, box, charger, etc., which I did.
Now I'm trying to set up an o2 account but without my sim, which I've returned, I can't log in.
To activate this sim o2 have sent me, they want to send me a text. THEY HAVE MY NUMBER. I can't transfer my number to this sim, because again they want to send me a text. THEY HAVE MY SIM.
All I want is my number back. They've sent me a sim which is supposed to have my number on it, but to activate it I need to receive a text.
This is maddening and hopeless.
How do I get my number back?

You should have kept your sim and not returned it.
If you message O2 on Facebook (https://o2uk.co/O2CFB) , Twitter (https://o2uk.co/O2CTW) or Instagram (https://o2uk.co/O2CIG) , they should be able to help you with this

Report the original sim lost and O2 will send you a replacement with the same number
