How to get phone unlocked quickly

With the recent issues with the network, I'm looking to get my phone unlocked so I can use a temporary SIM with another network. I'm away this weekend so won't have access to Wi-Fi so it's really important that I can get calls and texts to people in case the issue isn't sorted in time. I put in a request to unlock my phone but it said I may have to wait for 28 days - could the o2 store do it for me if I pop in? Or could I just get a phone shop or phone stall (like the ones they haven the middle of shopping centres) to do it for me or will that void the warranty? I don't want to have to buy a completely new phone for this as seems unnecessary.

I've had a code back in 42 minutes. So hang in there, and check the email address you gave as regularly as you can! The o2 store won't be able to do it but other stores might, for a fee.

You asked previously and were told the store can’t do it.
Request it through your MyO2 and if they ain’t busy you should get a code quickly.
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.
