How long does O2 take to bring in your old number from another provider?

Spent 40 minutes on the phone with O2 on Monday morning trying to get my PAC Code accepted as the online form was not working. I gave my details to a lady after a near 35 minute wait . She then said she would be back in a minute and put me on hold. After 10 more minutes I had to hang up. 24 hours later still have the O2 number I don’t want to use. So how long will it take?
