How do I close my account

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hi guys.  Quick question - does anybody know how to close an account?

My current contract ends on 02nd february and I am going to switch networks as 02 could not match the deal I was getting elsewere.  I want to close my account and ensure I do not get billed - can anybody steer me in the right direction?

Cheers - appreciate any help

Call CS on 202 and give them 30 days notice. You will have to pay for the next month as you have not given enough notice to end on the 2nd Feb, but if you port your number to your new network this will generate your final bill for which you should receive a credit for.

And I would also speak to your bank after the final debit payment has taken place and then cancel this direct debit mandate to stop any further payments being taken in error.

Only do this after your final payment has been taken and any switch to new network has completed.

If you want to keep the number you have now ask for a PAC and pass this to your new network, using that will close your O2 account, and they will send a final bill.

Leave your direct debit in place until you have this.
