My contract was up for upgrade but it consided with me going away for 6 months. so i didnt think to inform o2 that I didnt want to renew the contract, however my phone is still being charged monthly. I want to cancel my phone bill but I am abroad.

Can i still call the 202 number or is there a simplier way to do this?

Hi @Anonymous and Welcome to the Forum.

You're contract will have dropped onto a 30 day rolling one now.

Here are all the numbers in the link to contact O2 to cancel. And yes you can ring 202.

http://www.o2.co.uk/contactus

Here is a help thread about cancelling a contract http://community.o2.co.uk/t5/Pay-Monthly-and-Pay-Go/Cancelling-Your-Contract-A-Guide/m-p/566774/highlight/true#M56526 ,which has an address you can send a cancellation letter to, to back up your request for cancellation if you wish.

Or if you want to retain the mobile number you could ask for your contract to be changed to PAYG Account -> You would need to make a call every six months and top up within 999 days to keep it live, but at least you then could upgrade it back from a PAYG to Contract if you wish.

Hope I helped.

Just to add :

You could use your phone whilst abroad.

O2 Travel https://www.o2.co.uk/shop/international/using-phone-in-europe

Link to show call charges : http://www.o2.co.uk/international/internationalhub

And you could useTugo on wifi which uses your minutes and texts http://www.o2.co.uk/apps/tu-go

Use WiFi when and where possible and turn off O2 Voicemail.

Just possible alternatives. slight_smile

You cannot call Customer Services using 202. This is the number to use from abroad, which is free if you're calling from your mobile and are a Pay Monthly customer: +44 3448090202

I DO NOT WORK FOR O2
