How can I stop one-off data bolt-on being added?

Hi

My niece has a phone that I pay the bill for. This month and last month she used her data allowance and I said she could have 1 500mb bolt-on. But when that data got used she has just gone ahead and added again.

Is there a way of stopping extra data being purchased? Or at least so it can only be added from this website.

Also wish I knew why she was using so much data. Her 750MB went in just a few days!

Thanks

Ian

I don't live in the same household, so I only know what she is using or adding outside the included stuff by looking at myO2.  All I can do is tell her mum and her not to do it. Although I pay the DD, her mum pays me so she is just as annoyed at her.

I've also said several times to login to someones unsecured wi-fi so data isn't used.

Sounds like the tail is wagging the dog here. Whoever ultimately pays the bill has to tell her not to add on if she doesn't have permission to do it. Either that, or put her on a Pay & Go plan and let her pay for it herself.

Most peoples home broadband wifi is secured by default.

As long as she's not internet banking then places such as Starbucks etc offer free wifi.

My home city offers city wide wifi too.

With permission that's fine although insecure, without it it's theft.

It must be awful to be stuck between a rock and a hard place when you've done someone a favour and opened up a contract ,because they are too young or cannot pass a credit check I'm assuming.

😞

I hope she sees sense.
