How do I activate my new sim to my new iPad Pro? It’s saying text been sent but I’m not receiving anything

You need to put the sim into a phone to receive the text.

A microsoft account isn't compulsory on an iPad but if you want to use 365 on it, you will need to add the account and sign in.
