Help! Daughter put old O2 sim in to her new EE iPhone 6.

Got brand new iPhone 6 last monday having been unable to get similar deal with O2 now my 2 year contract is up. Now locked new iPhone to O2 (getting sim not valid message when put EE sim into iPhone) - tried to request unlock by O2 but they don't do iPhone 6 yet. Then tried to explain this was done in error and phone is not theirs but belongs to EE - first directed to ask EE. Sent back to O2. O2 then directed me to Apple. They say its O2. Apple also suggest I cancel! An easy mistake to make but what do I do now?
Have another O2 contract which I have just renewed for 12 months. Customer service giving different advice every time. How do I escalate this to a higher level?

Thought I would update you all. Pleased to get an 8 page thread even if most was for your own amusement at my predicament. Didn't return the iphone 6 (to mobiles.co.uk) as I had got a good deal and they had subsequently all disappeared. Had a short term fix as my O2 sim works in it so daughter (serves her right!) had to use my unlocked 5s with her new EE sim.

Just left it, then tried again last week to pay for unlock (quoted £65 in local shop) so decided to have one last go. Happened to get complaints specialist (Franklin) on web chat and much to my amazement - 2 days later my phone is unlocked!! Thanks for all your advice - perseverance seems to be the key. Keep going until you find a human being with a soul.....

I don't believe anyone was amused by your predicament and we will all be glad to hear you got it unlocked.
Obviously you were lucky to get a sympathetic adviser and no doubt it helped by you having your o2 sim in the phone.
Well done for your persistence slight_smile
