If you want to avoid chat, which isn't very reliable, you can call Customer Services on 202, which is a free call from your mobile. You have to give 30 days notice of cancellation, and you will owe your tariff (minus any bolt ons) x the months you have remaining on your contract. If you want to keep your number, you can ask Customer Services for your PAC, which you can then give to your new provider.

I was just offering the OP an alternative, as there have been so many instances in the forum recently of bad experiences with chat. O2 may want it all to go that way now, but I will not use chat if I can avoid it.

Last time I cancelled a contract, with Three, I did it in writing, and sent it first class recorded delivery (I always use recorded delivery cos I don't trust normal post to not go "walkies")
