Can I add a phone contract to an existing SIM only deal?

Only via upgrade, @Alan12 Guide: Upgrading Your O2 Phone or by purchasing a phone on 24 months from, eg, Google or Amazon and getting a second SIMO, with associated checks etc. Good luck!

Just to add to @pgn's excellent advice, another option for procuring a 'phone is to buy direct from the manufacturer - Apple, Samsung etc. 

A few forum regulars, myself included, have used this option and it has generally worked well. 👍
