Your old sim cannot be used on a contract so you need to use the new sim that came with the contract phone. It should work straight away but help on activating here if needed https://www.o2.co.uk/help/phones-sims-and-devices/activating-your-sim

Hi @alexsings Have you checked My O2 to see if you have exceeded your tariff limit? http://www.o2.co.uk/myo2
Try rebooting your phone a few times
If still not working then you need to contact customer services or speak to live chat

@alexsings Did you put your sim from your old phone in the new one, or use the new sim that came with your new phone?

@alexsings The easiest thing to do would be to call into an O2 store if you have one nearby, but they're probably closed by this time. Alternatively, if you have Skype over WiFi on either your phone or computer, you can call customer service on 0800 032 1402, or borrow someone's phone and use that number.
