I used to be able to pay for subscriptions on O2 via Google play. Is that to do with spend cap? Or how do I get this set up again?

If you have a spend cap, you have to ask O2 to remove it. All numbers to call are in this link

I removed spend cap which is when I was no longer able to pay for things in Google play by putting it on O2 account. So I just asked for it back. Should I not have done this? How do I pay for things through O2 again on Google play rather than adding it to credit card

You can have a spend cap but extend it to something like £30.

You can then spend upto that limit.
