Hello, I'm travelling to the US of A (America) at the end of the month and I'm a little worried about charges whilst over there for using texts/4G. I have no idea what the cost will be OR if there's a way I can make it cheaper. Does anyone have any idea? I'm going for 14 days. I'd like to keep my current number, I do plan on only using 4G/WiFi and communicating via What'sApp so it's mostly the cost of roaming I'm concerned about. Any tips gratefully received. Thank you

@KHSherlocked96

Depends on your tariff and bolt ons.

Guide here Guide: Roaming MegaGuide

You also need 4g calling enabled on your account to make calls in USA USA - Roaming with O2

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Currently using:
Pixel 7a (O2 & Lyca), One Plus 6 (Sfr), iPhone 12 Pro Max (Vodafone)

@KHSherlocked96 See this: https://www.o2.co.uk/help/network-coverage-and-international/travelling-to-the-usa

WhatsApp over WiFi is your best bet.

Also be aware that O2 throttles data roaming speeds down to 500kbps so you will be lucky if you can check your email.

I DO NOT WORK FOR O2
