Gloucestershire signal and 3G

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hi all,

I've just moved house to Gloucestershire where signal and 3G  appears to be non-existent. I've spoken with a few O2 peops and it doesn't sound like there is a solution to improve things.

What happens in this instance? I'm on an O2 contract, but now i've moved i'm essentially paying for nothing. Do I just have to put up with it? I'm prepared to try all things to improve signal, but failing this I would prefer to move to a network that can actually provide a service. It's not like I've moved to the Isle of Skye; I would expect there to be reasonable coverage in this part of the country as with other networks in this area.

Any help/advice much appreciated!

Guy

We see this all the time unfortunatly as you have moved there is not a lot of options.

Have you looked at the coverage map to see what o2 predict you should get for your exact postcode and the status checker for any local issues.? both here http://www.o2.co.uk/connectivity/network-coverage

Are you a consumer or business tariff?

Hi and Welcome.

Appreciate what your saying but in the flip side it is not o2's fault you've moved to a fringe coverage area. 😞

The service a status looks fine for the area but do input your full postcode.

Download the MYNETWORK app and use that to report the masts and if you can try your sim in another phone as a process of elimination to rule out your sim/network or the phone.

Have you thought of using Tugo which works off home broadband wifi ?

What's app and viber are alternatives too and also for Payg customers. The recipients need these downloaded too.

You do have the option to buy out the contract which is the remaining months minus any bolt on's times the monthly tariff amount.

I would suggest getting other network Payg sim and try them out beforehand as coverage checkers are for indication only.

If your a pay monthly customer then unlocking your handset to accept any network SIM card is free.

That's if it's locked in the first place.
