Giving away upgrade

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hi

This might be a silly question, but here goes, I gave my now ex husband my upgrade he had rubbish Nokia, gave him the Samsung Galaxy s3 mini, which I also got a free samsung tablet with, I have got an iPhone that I purchased.  We are both on o2 network.

My question is does the phone belong to me or him, as we swapped upgrades, I had his last time?!  On here it states my iPhone as the phone I've got, not the samsung..

Thanks

It will say the iPhone because that's what is registered against your number. It has nothing to do with device ownership. I think you'd need a lawyer to decide who legally owns which phone as once O2 provide the phone it's up to you what you do with it. I guess you made an amicable agreement with your ex but where the law decides I have no idea....
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Currently using:
Pixel 7a (O2 & Lyca), One Plus 6 (Sfr), iPhone 12 Pro Max (Vodafone)

Not sure on the complexed legalities but once O2 provide the phone to you, you are free to do with it as you please. I would think it would be looked on as a gift.

My advice would be to let it go and carry on with your new life.

Got to agree with bob there. After my breakup I lost an aweful lot of money but cut your losses and enjoy life slight_smile

As for legalities if the phone is under your contract/name it is yours despite who's hand it currently resides in. Best bet would be to call CS and ask if there is a Samsung mobile attached to your account in someway.
Nothing sucks more than that moment during an argument when you realize you’re wrong. So Ive been told wink
