Getting a Micro SIM to replace standard SIM still in contract

Anonymous
Not applicable

My wife got a Blackberry 9320 at Christmas on a 24 month contract.

However she hates it!

My son has recently got a Nokia Lumia 520 and she quite likes that.

Therefore can I go and buy her a Pay and Go Lumia 520 and then get o2 to swap her normal SIM for a Micro SIM (which the Lumia uses). She will stay on the same tariff (£10.50 a month for 50 minutes, 100Mb data, Unlimited texts)

I can then flog the Blackberry.

Call O2 and ask them to send you out a micro sim. Then go to swapmysim.o2.co.uk to activate it. This will move your wife's contract onto this and the old sim card will stop working.

It takes up to 24 hours but usually done within 20 minutes.

Yes to everything. You won't have any problems if you follow opiums advice. You will probably have to reset the settings but there should be an inbuilt app to do that for you.
