Hi Everybody,

Does anyone know the process by which we can gain access to an old number which was changed?

Tried calling customer service, they have bounced us around or hung up. Had a fair few lies that they had carried out the action. Been told to go to the shop (who then said we sell you a sim card then you call customer service), had customer service representatives sell a new contract stating that is the only way to get the new number back.

Checked this with other customer service staff and they said this is a miss-sale...

Overall...

Anyone got a better solution?

@APutt

How long since the number was changed?

If over 6 months, it could have been reallocated.

Have O2 confirmed the number is available?

I'd guess it may be easier to change the number to your current one with which ever organisation you need to authorise.

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Hi MI5,

We're within 6 months, o2 have confirmed the number has not been re-allocated.

Can't update the number as access requires the old number for 2fa. As mentioned before this is actually service provided, hoping someone knows the procedure as we're being miss sold many items.

It's also days down the line of enquiring. Quite frustrating really.

Did you manage to regain access?

@APutt

Do you still have the sim associated with the number?

If so, CS should be able to reactivate the sim.
