Re: GPS service on O2?

Do you mean GPS? That is Global Positioning System and has nothing to do with O2.
If you mean GPRS which is a method of getting data on you phone then the answer is yes.

Re: GPS service on O2?

GPS is used for satellite navigation and for compass features which are built into certain phones, it works independently of O2 and is free.

Re: GPS service on O2?

GPS is owned and operated by the US Military who give free access to it's satellites now that they have a more accurate system up there.
GPS is independent of any any network provider and the phone should be able to connect to it as long as your not in too much a built up area/Indoors etc.
If your GPS is switched on on your phone and your having no joy in an area which is generally open then it's a problem with your phone.

Galileo will be fully operational in the next 2 to 3 years too.

Re: GPS service on O2?

With the Europeans chucking these up there mean it's more accurate than the current GPS available by the Americans. I've worked with Military GPS and know the parameters around that, Surely they won't wish to make that the industry standard?

Re: GPS service on O2?

No it'll be the same but independent of the yanks, with a premium option for high accuracy to one metre.

Re: GPS service on O2?

In answer to the original post, if you mean does O2 have satnav app like Orange and Vodaphone then the answer is No.
You only use what is supplied on the phone e.g Google maps, Ovi maps or a paid service like Wisepilot, CoPilot, Navmii, Ndrive, Amaze or Sygic.
