Free data bolt on

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hello all, this is my first post on the forum.

I have, this month started a new contract on o2 via Carphone warehouse - o2 500 24M 500MB 4G with a Blackberry Passport.

My question is this, on the Allowances page of my o2, it shows my current tariff of £28 for 500 minutes, unlimited texts and 500MB of data. At the side of this it shows a data allowance bolt on of 500MB for FREE as well as an additional bolt on for using the phone abroad.

Now, is this free data bolt on in addition to the paid for 500MB giving 1GB, or is there a catch some where? When I tried to activate the data bolt on, a price list was presented. Confusing.

It's just listing your inclusive data allowance as free, as it's classic as a free bolt on. Once used you will have to purchase another bolt on.

It may be an offer that is running but usually if you have a 500mb tariff, that is what you get.
The data abroad is the O2 Travel bolt on which costs £1.00 per day when away in an EU country and you can use as much data as you wish (although speeds can be limited).

I think it means whenever you exceed your first minutes (the 500MB that comes with the contract), the 500MB Bolt-on will kick in giving you effectively 1GB data.

As it appears to be confusing us a little, can you post a screenshot for us to see?

But only if the OP pays for the 500MB bolt on though?

Ok looked at my billing page. I have O2 Refresh 600 minutes 750MB data 24 Month as mine.

In the bolt on section I have 1 data bolt-on 750MB mentioned (free) which is part of the tariff plus the O2 Travel, TU Go and oddly enough 4G gets mentioned which simply means if you have a 4G SIM and your in a 4G area with a 4G capable you can access the LTE network.

I think the confusion comes from the fact it seems to be invoicing you the cost of the data which costs you nothing more because it is part of your contract.

Again sorry for any confusion.
