Hi. I have a Data Only SIM, with a number allocated, installed in an IPAD. My plan has 100 free texts. Most of the posts I have read on the sublect of sending text from an IPAD are at least two years old.

I am trying to find out if there is any way yet to send and receive texts using the sim and number in the ipad, not using Messages App and the plan on my phone.

I understand that texts are sent over the voice network, not over the data network, so I am assuming that WIFI calling would need to be enabled for the IPAD. Does anyone know if there are there any plans to do this?

Unfortunately, an iPad cannot still send or receive sms messages.

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Currently using:
Pixel 7a (O2 & Lyca), One Plus 6 (Sfr), iPhone 12 Pro Max (Vodafone)
