Long story short I fell over with my phone in my pocket and smashed the screen but my phone will no longer turn on, will a free screen replacement cover this?

It will depend on the reason for it not turning on.
All you can do is send it in and hope for the best.

Most likely is they will quote for all repair then deduct the screen repair from the quote

But any other damage that is not caused by the screen damage will not be covered .
