Free Phone Numbers

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hi,

Can anyone inform me officially what the line is on freephone numbers from 02?

I am on a monthly contract.

I've heard that all 0800 prefix numbers are now free.  Which other numbers are free?

I have to say, up till now everytime I see an 0800, 0845, 0840 etc., I go straight to SayNoTo0870 and try and find an alternative.  It works sometimes but some of the organisations block the numbers you are given.  One of them is HMRC - conveniently for them!

All 0800 numbers are free, any others that start 08 are chargeable, but the cost depends on what the rest of the number is.

All 03 numbers come out of your allowances too.

Yes they are, but 03 numbers aren't free.
They are chargeable as a local rate or come out of allowances.
