So my iPhone XR has been on a 12 month contract.
I've just finished paying off the monthly payment for the phone and says it's now settled
(I'm still paying for my tariff)

Do I have to ring o2 to cancel the direct debit for the phone contract itself? Or will they just stop it automatically as it's saying I've settled the phone bill but the direct debit is still on my bank account ready to come out next month

(I have two direct debits, 1 for the tariff and 1 for the phone)

(I don't plan on upgrading either)

any help or advice would be greatly appreciated

Do you know roughly how long it takes for them to cancel it?
Will I get a notification/email to say they've now cancelled it?

@Britt1221x

It's not actually cancelled, it just won't be claimed anymore, but you will still see the direct debit listed in your account details with your bank.

If you want to remove it, you can cancel it with your bank, but only after you are 100% certain that all payments have been made.

O2 will send you a letter notifying you of all payments made against the device plan and confirmation that the account is closed. Your MyO2 will also show that the device plan has been paid.

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.
