O2 are just scamming people to get them to take contracts then doing nothing to put the situation right

Multiple credit checks in quick succession will also result in a fail......

Personally i would email their complaints team and request they remove this credit search from your report. At least then you have something in writing.

It was days apart that i tried to take out a contract and got refused as customer services told me to wait 24 hours and try again. Ill try getting them to remove the search
