Hi, I just switched from an ancient Android to an iphone and have now been charged 85p a day for data. As far as I know, I've only used wi-fi. Don't know the name of my tarriff (roughly £17.90) , but I didn't have any previous data allowance. Does anyone know why I'm suddenly receiving these charges? Ta.

On contract, you get a data allowance. You can check your MyO2 to see how much you get and how much is left for the month, but consumer contracts are never charged extra for data.

Hi @FergusD You can check you tariff in My O2 http://www.o2.co.uk/myo2

You may be on the wrong data package. You need to ring O2 to check your account https://www.o2.co.uk/contactus

You extra charges could be foe MMS messages https://community.o2.co.uk/t5/Other-Products-and-Services/Accidental-MMS-Sending-and-How-to-Avoid-it... or other out of allowance charges, but your MyO2 will give you the breakdown.

Are you sure this isn't a business account? Did you take the contract directly with O2?

Understand and manage your data would be more appropriate, otherwise there's no point to a smartphone.
