Hi guys/gals,
I'm currently on holiday in Cyprus and still have data available, unlimited texts/calls. I have checked my account and appear to be racking up a daily bill of £4.16. Considering I am in the EU zone, why am I being billed? And apart from switching phone off, how do I stop incurring further fees please? Tia

Hi @AquaMarina

It really depends what part of Cyprus you are in. Northern Cyprus is Turkish therefore not in the EU zone

Southern Cyprus is in the EU.https://www.o2.co.uk/help/pay-monthly/roaming-in-europe

It's very easy when in that country to pick up aTurkish network. if that happens you will be charged

See further here on pricing  http://international.o2.co.uk/internationaltariffs/travelling_abroad#

Scroll down to Cyprus and notice the asterisk next to the country. (Cyprus)

Just for further info there is a map in this guide which shows the difference between North and South https://community.o2.co.uk/t5/How-to-Guides/Roaming-in-Turkey-and-Cyprus-On-PAYG/bc-p/1105917

I’d definitely say you are connected to a Turkish network.

You need to select manual network rather than auto selection.
