As everyone on a monthly contracts I have an allowance on text messages.
My son just started secondary school where teachers communicate with parents sending text messages from mobile "stationary" phone.
How is it possible that every time I reply to the message I get extra charged?
Shouldn't it go from my free text messages allowance?
I am not happy with it as my bill will get bigger from week to week!

It’s the norm these days I hear, parents receive a text or email or they have to look on the schools Facebook page or group. Gone are the days when you used to have old fashioned letters sent home like I used to

I suppose it is a sign of the times. It would also improve the system. Many times I have cleared out school bags only to find letters which should have been given to me 2 weeks previously.

However, as regards the OP, there is no way parents should be charged for return texts to the school number given. The school needs to review that system and the number they use.

Well, I will need to find out what's the best solution as I don't think school would change the system just for one parent

We can use email too. Is that not an option for you?

Just tried another option. On the text message there is also a link that takes me to the internet website and shows same message where I can reply.
Guess will be using this from now on.

That's good news for you and the same way that ParentMail works too.
