I’ve just taken out a contract with O2 inclusive minutes text 50GB data, and after 1 day I have extra charges added ? These look like they are charges for text messages that I’ve sent to all my contacts to pass on a new phone number ?

@Antant  Definitely sounds like the group message (to advise of new number) which then converted to MMS

Group Messages

Another popular way of sending an MMS unintentionally is by sending a group message.

O2 recommends that you send group texts in batches of five recipients to prevent this

Your My O2 should show you the breakdown of charges http://www.o2.co.uk/myo2

It seems likely you have been charged for sending as mms after group messages are converted. Possibly O2 will refund the charges if you get through to a sympathetic adviser. Call 203 and I would advise against using live chat for this. 202 is your best option

Hi @Antant

Did your message include any photos, diagrams or anything other than text which would have turned your text into an MMS which is chargeable and does not come out of your allowances.

Have you checked in MyO2 to confirm exactly what the charges are for?

Welcome to the forum by the way.
