Europe On PAYG

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hi

I'm on the £15 big bundle package and off to Paris for 5 days in September.

I need to stay in touch with home for family reasons can anyone please offer me some advice into what to turn off on my Iphone5 so I do not incure any silly costs.

Would it be wise to get some sort of bolt on?

Look forward to any help that may be out there.

BW

Richard.

Hi @Anonymous

Have a look at this link

http://www.o2.co.uk/help/pay-and-go/calling-texting-and-data-usage-abroad#qs

General advice is to turn off voicemail, data roaming and mobile data. Use WiFi wherever possible

I go to Spain frequently and use Wifi most of the time. I keep in touch with family via whatsapp, messenger and skype. WiFi is usually free and available in hotels, bars and restaurants etc wink

Edited to add.... You may want to get tjhe O2 travel bolt on.....https://www.o2.co.uk/shop/international/using-phone-in-europe

Get o2 travel if you don't already have it.

No bolt ons available so yes, best advice is use O2 Travel and wifi. Other option if the phone is unlocked is to use a local sim but it may not be worth it for 5 days.
