Having recently purchased a new phone & O2 contract, how do I ensure that my previous O2 contract has been cancelled & I don't have 2 accounts running?

Thank you ... I have transferred my old number to my new contract but concerned the 'new' number that came with my new contract will continue to exist as a second account. Will call them on the numbers you've provided...thanks again for the advice.

If you upgraded you won't have two accounts

If however you took out a seperate contract, you need to ask customer service to migrate your old number to the new contract which will end the old contract

If you want to keep the new number then cancel as in the link

The numbers for the payment management team are 0800 325 302 or 0800 902 0217.

or try these 0800 977 7337 and 0800 587 4005 and 0800 0901808

No it won't @Jax15 

Once your old number transferred the new number was returned to the pool for reallocation to another customer.
