If you upgraded you won't have two accounts
If however you took out a seperate contract, you need to ask customer service to migrate your old number to the new contract which will end the old contract
If you want to keep the new number then cancel as in the link

Once your old number transferred the new number was returned to the pool for reallocation to another customer.
