My contract has finished and I want to keep the phone so what happens now with my

Your contract will continue on a rolling 30 day basis.
If you wish to cancel with O2 Guide: Cancelling Your Contract
You can keep your phone and get a sim only contract elsewhere or you can change your tariff and stay with O2 which may save you money or increase your allowances.

As your phone is now paid for you will only pay for the artime If you are happy with the phone I would suggest going sim free. You will get a better airtime deal with more allowances.
