EU Roaming

Hi,

I'm going to Berlin tomorrow and want to be able to use the 3g on my contract phone.  Mainly for checking, sending emails.

I read that it costs £1.99 to do this.

Is this per day?  What are the download limits?

Do I need to alert o2 that I'm going abroad or does this package just kick in automatically?

Thanks!

It's £1.99 for 15Mb/day. Check in My O2 that you have O2 Travel as a free active bolt on. Unfortunately I know from experience that free wifi is fairly scarce in Berlin.

Bear in mind too that if it's a smartphone it could be checking for updates every day unless you turn data off.

Thanks.  I have that bolt on so should be good to go.

I have an iphone but it only updates it software or apps when I tell it to.

Should only really be checking emails during the day (won't open attachments) and have wifi in the hotel so 15mb should be enough.

Yes, sounds like your go to go, 15MB should be plenty for what you want it for. Don't worry as you will not get charged for over using 15MB but O2 travel will get removed if you exceed it a couple of days running. You will get notified if this is the case.

You might want to turn off voicemail too before you go as you would pay roaming rates for any messages picked up from voicemail. Dial 1760 to turn off and 1750 when you want to reactivate it but this needs to be done whilst in the UK. Enjoy your trip:smileyhappy:
