Does proper PAYG no longer exist?

Anonymous
Not applicable

I'm currently on PAYG with the "Text Anytime" tariff, but never use the 300 text messages in the month I top up.

When I look at the other options, they all seem to require monthly payment, which seems to defeat the point of PAYG.  Not only that, but the cheapest one is £10, which is about twice as much as I currently spend (including my £3 data bolt-on, which is usually enough as there's wifi pretty-much everywhere these days).

Does true PAYG no longer exist?

I doubt that it does, you could search all the suppliers but don't think you'll find it.

Defo giffgaff (no capital letters ;)) or if you want to stay with O2 the Big Talker tariff allows you to retain your top up and gives you some allowances on top.
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Hi there what you need to be on is the tariff called o2 basic if you call o2 up and select the option for the cancellation department and ask them to put you on a tarriff called "o2 basic" on o2 basic calls are 15p per min and text are 5p per min,

So just call them up and say you do not want big bundles or big talker you just want to be on the normal o2 basic tariff where calls are 15p per min,

I have done this for a few people who want to be on standard payg in fact i did it for myself the other day for my back up phone on o2 basic there is no monthly allowance you only get charges for the calls are text you make But make sure you select the option for the cancellation department on the ivr select the option for thinking of leaving o2 as they are the only department that can put you on the o2 retention's tariff o2 basic,

We have been told this tariff is no longer available so have stopped advising about it.
