I followed the link on the Disney + message I received and signed up for the 6 month free subscription but I am being charged a monthly subscription.

It does tell you when you take out the extra that unless YOU cancel the extra it will continue, and you will be charged, if you failed to do this or read what it tells you then that is your fault.
o2 will not refund the charge
