Hi i paid a £225 deposit for the contract im on now i have made 3 payments before they were long due. I rung customer service up and i was told i have to wait till my next bill which is due on the 2nd June and it will be applied as a credit on my next bill or i can ring o2 up and have it applied as a refund to my bank account. Im sure im due this back now to this very day or can they make me wait till when my next bill is due on the 2nd june they apply it to my account as credit

It has always been the case that you make 3 payments in full on time and the deposit is added as a credit on the 4th bill, at which time you can request it to be paid into your account.

@Dartford38 What you should really do now, if you haven't done so already, is set up a Direct Debit. You have to pay your monthly bill come what may, and with Direct Debit you get notified well in advance of the payment being taken from your account. Setting this up avoids any chance of you missing a payment in the future.

Hi @Dartford38

Like you I had to pay a deposit when I got my first contract phone with O2. I set up a Direct Debit as @Bambino suggests straight away. After the 3 month period was up, all bills paid in full on the due date, I rang Customer Services and was given the options of a refund of the balance of my deposit (an amount to cover my next bill due at month end deducted from the deposit) or a full refund of my deposit paid into my bank account. I chose the former of the two options.

This was over 5 years ago but as @jonsie has said it's always been the case that O2 want to see 3 on-time payments before you're given options for the return of your deposit.
