Hi. I need some help and advice. I have had a sudden surge in mobile data usage. Any ideas what could be causing this?
Normally, only use 2/3G a month as always in WiFi. At the mo’ due to lockdown, pretty much always in WiFi area as at home.

Hi @WR 

Have you checked your data usage in your phones settings?

This will give an indication of which apps are high on usage.

Mines exactly the same, I have a 4GB plan and I hardly ever go over [my average is 3.2GB] but this month it all ran out not even half way through the month and when I bought another 500mb that it disappeared in just 3 days. I've tried looking through my phone settings to see what might be using all the data but can't see anything. Also the same in the fact I use wifi all the time so hardly ever tend to use my data for long periods. Tried looking on O2 for somewhere to contact or email but cant find anywhere. Ive still got over a week to go before my new month starts.

Check if you have WiFi assist on (or something similar) as well.
this would tell your phone to use mobile data if the WiFi signal or speed drops which can catch people out.
One other thing is if WiFi is allowed when phone goes to sleep.
