Hi,

I’ve recently just moved to Australia from the UK & hoped at all costs to keep my UK number/phone and likely get a different phone whilst here for Australian number.

O2 has claimed that my monthly payment of £25 covers unlimited texts, calls & 150GB of Data in UK, USA & Australia.

I have an iPhone Xs so I don’t believe I can get 5G but when I connect to 4G here it’s absolutely horrendous. 0.30 download average & 0.22 upload average when in public. This is EVERYWHERE I go. O2 is reporting this is normal & okay(?) I can barely even send a message to someone when not connecting to internet itself.

Is there any form of advice or direction I could head towards to receive a fix on this situation(?) there is no point of paying this for essentially a broken data plan.

@SlothsHere

The T&C's for travel state that data is capped at 0.5mbps maximum, so there's nothing you can do to change that, sorry.

  1. O2 Travel is available to Consumer Pay Monthly customers and can be obtained as:
    1. a. a paid subscription, with unlimited minutes and texts and data (with capped data speeds of 500 kbps) in all our O2 Travel destinations (“O2 Travel Subscription”); and / or
    2. a free service in selected destinations only, as an offer on eligible tariffs (“O2 Travel Inclusive Zone”)

https://www.o2.co.uk/termsandconditions/mobile/o2travel-paymonthly-terms-and-conditions

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Currently using:
Pixel 7a (O2 & Lyca), One Plus 6 (Sfr), iPhone 12 Pro Max (Vodafone)
