I am a nurse specialist who has to isolate due to having a medical diagnosis which makes me vulnerable to coronavirus. I am going to work from home using my phone as a hot spot. Can I have unlimited data free of charge in order to do my work ?

Hi @JayneGosling

O2 haven't mentioned anything about free data in their guidelines here

https://community.o2.co.uk/t5/Welcome-News/Our-latest-update-on-COVID-19-Coronavirus/m-p/1303520#M33...

If you need to speak to O2 about anything extra then call them from here Guide: How to find help & contact O2

I don't think it would hurt for O2 to give unlimited data to certain cases where critical. Especially as most of us working from home will be using our own broadband, so actual network data usage must be very low.

Maybe a suggestion that can be fedback @Martin-O2 @Marjo ?

It would be nice to give a little back to those in need and I'd be happy to offer my data to them whilst this crisis continues......

Totally agree. These are key workers after all. As for offering data, that's a good idea. I have 10 gb and only use 1GB (It was on offer and I did think I would be watching F1 on my phone whilst I was away.) rolling_eyes

The government should step in and give unlimited data to key workers and make a recommendation to all networks. I wonder who will be the first to offer this?

I've got 20gb to throw in the pot.
I can manage this month with less than 1gb easily.

100gb each on my daughter's and son's and another 20gb on my wife's.
That should see @JayneGosling through the month slight_smile

Shame donations aren't possible but as you said, most people working from home will be on wifi....unless wifi providers go into meltdown and services are scaled back.

I have just spoken to O2. The guy told me that they haven’t had an update since the 18th and that as this has taken the company by surprise they haven’t made any contingency plans yet!!!
