Data Usage Abroad

Hi,

Recently my wife and I were in Nepal and India on holiday and within two days of arrival in Nepal I had received a txt stating that "You've reached 100% of your Spending Cap".

My wife got the same txt the next day.

Neither of us use data much other than a few web pages - no streaming content etc.

I immediately turned Data Roaming off on both phones.

On the fourth day I managed to connect my O2 app over wifi and the account details showed that data use was pretty much approx 600MB and my bill for the period showed only £1.25 in charges abroad. No where near the agreed limit!

How does this happen?

Steve

What is your agreed spend cap?

@MI5

After reading the guide I contacted O2 and it would appear that my Cap was £10.

But, in Nepal and India data is charged at £7.20 per MB which doesn't give a lot to play with - which is no bad thing. Just opening a browser might reach that limit if adverts aren't blocked.

In the end O2 refunded the excess charge I had a accidentally incurred.

Thanks for your help as well.

I had a feeling that it would be set low.
