DO NOT PAY O2 A "SECURITY DEPOSIT"..

Anonymous
Not applicable

Just a warning to potencial o2 customers..

I paid o2 a £250 "security deposit" to secure a new contract. I received a email the next day saying even though I had paid this I had still actually failed the credit check but they took the £250 anyway..

Be warned, that was over a week ago and I`m still waiting on my money.. customer support fob you off and tell you what you want to hear.. but don`t refund..

It doesnt matter what I was "Told" a week ago.. O2 does not have a right to do this...

I have used this forum, the chat service and rang customer services twice now.. latest conversation I was told I would be "Refunded" by today.. which I wasnt.

I`m not using this forum expecting some big o2 fan like yourself to sort it.. because I know you cant.. I posting to make others aware of o2`s shoddy practices

So Nationwide have confirmed it's a debit then? You seen convinced O2 have your money, but I'm not.

I'm not saying it's a perfect system, I'd probably be annoyed too, but I sure as heck would've been in touch with my bank when first advised last week the money could be just being held back.

I really hope you're sorted asap though whatever/whoever has your money! Crazy

Thanks for your concern lol,

No reply from nationwide.. as already mentioned..

Irrespective, o2 was in the wrong taking money / or witholding (Depending on how you look at it) without having completed they`re checks..

Either way, I am £250 down, and it is the fault of o2 😉

That might get you a solution quicker, I'd definitely be on the phone (if they're still open now?).

I dont bank with nationwide, but a mate of mine does. It was him that said debit card payments would move onto pending site for about 14 days before being returned. But it could be that the company he used had the money and was returning.

I have three accounts with Nationwide and never had any problems whatsoever. They knock spots off HSBC in every way...

I have three Nationwide accounts and never had a problem, much better than my parent bank RBS.
